ABOUT
Amy has enjoyed a career in the theatre industry for over 25 years. Recent credits: Associate Director of the 2018 National Tour of Amazing Grace; Assistant to the Directing team for the Broadway production of Amazing Grace, directed by Gabriel Barre and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli at the Nederlander Theatre in NYC. Choreographer: Hello, Dolly! starring Colleen Zenk. Chicago theatre credits include SDC Observership for the Broadway in Chicago production of Amazing Grace at the Bank of America Theatre; Director/Choreographer for Savoyaires HMS Pinafore/Pirates of Penzance. Choreographer for Street Tempo Theatre Company’s production of Little Shop of Horrors, Oh Boy!, and State Street at City Lit Theatre. She also directed and co-wrote Let’s Face the Music & Dance starring Chicago Cabaret artist, Robert Whorton. Additional credits include: Director- High Fidelity, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Violet. Choreographer- Sweet Charity, Little Shop of Horrors, Victor/Victoria, Michael John LaChiusa’s Bernarda Alba & The Wild Party, Pirates of Penzance, Romeo & Juliet and Director/Choreographer for A Christmas Carol at Columbia College Chicago.
Regional credits: Guest Choreographer for Seussical the musical at Jacksonville State University, the east coast debut of Don’t Hug Me at NJ Repertory Company, and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at the Surflight Theatre. Directing projects include Pirates of Paradise New Year’s Extravaganza at the famed Atlantis Resort and Oklahoma! at The Orpheus Theatre. Additional Choreography credits include Guys & Dolls starring Eddie Mekka, Oklahoma! starring Sandy Duncan, Bye Bye Birdie starring Priscilla Lopez, as well as A Chorus Line where Amy also played Cassie opposite Peter Scolari at Cherry County Playhouse.
As a world traveler, Amy has worked as Director/Choreographer for Morag Productions staging cruise ship reviews for Cunard, Royal Olympic and Saga Cruise Lines. A career highlight includes an award-winning production as Director/Choreographer of A Chorus Line at Union County Arts Center in New Jersey. This production was awarded ‘Best Revival’ by Peter Filichia’s ‘Top Picks’ of the season.
She has also been a part of the hair and makeup teams for the following Broadway companies: Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, All Shook Up, Little Women starring Sutton Foster, 42nd Street starring Shirley Jones, Dracula, the Musical, Sly Fox starring Richard Dreyfuss, and Spamalot.
Amy continues to work as a freelance Director/Choreographer & holds Master Classes at studios nationwide. She has been on faculty at STEPS on Broadway in NYC, New Jersey School of Ballet, Ithaca College, and Wagner College. She is currently an Associate Professor and Musical Theatre Coordinator at Columbia College Chicago.
